This is why you were not shown a consent banner. Consent requirements under the EU ePrivacy Directive and the UK PECR are triggered by storing or accessing information on your device. The site does neither, so there is nothing to ask you about.
Verify it yourself
- Cookies. Open developer tools, go to Application (or Storage in Firefox), and look under Cookies for this domain. It is empty.
- Storage. In the same panel, check Local Storage, Session Storage and IndexedDB. All empty.
- Third parties. On the Network tab, filter by domain. Every request is to this site — fonts, styles and scripts are all self-hosted, so no outside party learns you visited.
The recorder deliberately uses no browser storage of any kind, which is also why an undownloaded recording cannot be recovered. The same property that keeps your device untouched removes any possibility of a draft.
What is logged anyway
Being complete rather than absolutist: our web host produces standard server logs — IP address, page requested, timestamp and browser user-agent string — as every web server does. That is not a cookie and it does not identify you personally, but it is data, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest. It never contains audio. Details are on the privacy page.
If this changes
If we ever add analytics or anything that stores data on your device, we will:
- Update this page before the change goes live, not after.
- Prefer a cookieless, privacy-respecting analytics tool over one that tracks individuals.
- Add a genuine consent mechanism if consent is legally required — not a banner that assumes agreement.
- State it plainly on the privacy page too.
Controlling cookies generally
Nothing to control here, but for other sites: every major browser lets you view and delete cookies and block third-party ones by default, under Privacy settings. Blocking cookies entirely will break sites that rely on them for sign-in. It will not affect this one.

How can I check you set no cookies?
Open developer tools, go to the Application or Storage panel, and look at Cookies, Local Storage and IndexedDB for this domain. All empty.
Do you use Google Analytics?
No. This build ships with no analytics at all. If any were added it would be disclosed here and on the privacy page first.
Are the fonts loaded from Google Fonts?
No. Fonts are self-hosted on this domain specifically so that no third party learns you visited.
Does the recorder store anything in my browser?
No. Recordings live in the tab's memory only and are discarded when you close it, which is also why they cannot be recovered.
